Great writing, but this is the second Sarah Waters book that I’ve stopped reading because it’s just too sad/dark. But I promise the writing is as good as everyone says it is! Maybe I’ll go back to this book eventually.

It’s not often I read or watch something that feels totally original, but this series is. Sometimes it was so original that I had no idea what was going on… but I enjoyed it nonetheless!
