"After seeing The L Word a few times since 2016-after I came out of the closet as queer-here are my thoughts:
Season 6 was my favorite season in many regards particular Helena and Kit's Hit new space, the expansion of Bette & Tina's place, etc. There was a lot of movement in that last season.
My favorite character was a tie between Bette and Marina. They were powerful, creative, talented forces of nature.
My greatest question, is did they intend to kill Jenny the entire time, or was that the solution for qualing the masses that didn't want the lesbian ending for Jenny and Marina? Did they kill her off instead of keep her single, to highlight mental health awareness, and how much harm was caused around her that led to her demise?
Adele (Jenny's replacement) & Begoña (the actress who played Marina in Jenny's film) were together in the end.
Regardless of all of the shortcomings, I believe this series had a positive effect on the LGBT community over all, because it opened important conversation, and changed the way that LGBT content presents in the media, normalized the idea of being gay, and presented it in a new way that was unheard of before. Looking forward to finishing The L Word: GQ, and seeing what they do with The L Word: NY, if it happens.
