"FINAL REVIEW: This turned out to be just fine, and I enjoyed it, even though it wasn’t quite what I had expected in terms of depth & serious tone found in other murder mysteries like The Undoing or Big Little Lies. Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable #whodunit, that didn’t take itself too seriously, and was what Hollywood describes as “self aware,” making it feel more like a light mystery😊 🏖️ I have a feeling this will hit the #Netflix #TopTen very quickly and perhaps stay there for a while…. 🤷‍♀️ We shall see, but although I’ve only watched the premiere episode (and the first MINUTE of episode two—with a great #plot_twist I didn’t see coming!), THE PERFECT COUPLE (2024) seems like it’s going to be a good #drama with a #layered narrative where a #murder occurs in the very beginning and the plot slowly unravels or unfolds through #complex character interactions and #relationships, revealing key details and #secrets or hidden truths, piece by piece — I love shows like these, as they keep the #suspense alive! ▪️Similar TV series and movies that I’ve enjoyed with this same plot device are: Big Little Lies, The Undoing, The Others (all starring #NicoleKidman), Ozark, The Night Of, Mare of Easttown, Dark, Rectify, Broadchurch, True Detective, Mystic River, Prisoners, Gone Girl, Gone Baby Gone, Zodiac, and The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo 🐉 (Can anyone help me think of some others??)"

"Pretty decent murder mystery with a great cast. The plot ran a bit thin in the middle And some of the cast members had odd placements like the French lady and the young male family friend but it all kept along at a decent pace. The ending/ reveal was a shock although that last episode was tinged with a bit of a zany feel with somewhat of a nutty ending."

"As always, Nicole Kidman rocks any role she plays and Liev Schreiber’s natural aura, crepy looks and great acting just enhanced his gross character hence the two stars… but most Ridiculous story, family, characters and ending. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it thoroughly, it is a drama mystery and 5 stars to all actors! 4 stars for dialog as a lot of unnecessary F bombs. It is a captivating watch with no cliff hanger at the end! "When in a sun-soaked rich people’s paradise the only inevitable is endless secrets lurking beneath the well-polished facade. Greer is the matriarch of this very dysfunctional family who tries to uphold a manicured image of perfection. Everything is carefully curated down to every last painstaking detail. But how long can all this falseness really last? It’s exceptionally draining to eternally lie and falsify what’s actually going on behind the scenes, no end in sight. Life isn’t always glamorous or beautiful, it can hurt and be complicated. Being deeply wounded is definitely a natural part of existence and this show explores what it’s like not to know the immediate way forward. I really loved the beginning exuberant dance title sequence and how most every episode landed on a titillating cliffhanger that tempts you to watch more, more, more. It spoke to the revolting side of excessive privilege and the perils of not really being happy or fulfilled as money can only buy and inspire so much. Something else has to come from and be nourished within. Each of the characters have remarkably developed inner worlds and backstories that spark to life while you wonder which one could be responsible for the murder that befalls this complicated household. The only thing I didn’t particularly like was the motive for the murder, because I love my wholly unexpected plot twists, but other than that this was a compulsively watchable series that reels you right in. "
