"The Perfect Girlfriend is the newest stalker thriller, and I had been looking forward to this one for a bit. While I think the set-up is intriguing, I didn't love the execution.

Little reveals were sprinkled throughout the book, so it did a decent enough job of holding my attention. However, my main issue with this book was that it dragged on for entirely too long. You can only read about so many flights before it gets too repetitive. I did really enjoy this aspect in the beginning, but it was exhausting after a while.

I enjoyed seeing the close calls and Juliette unravel more and more. It got a little too overdramatic for my taste toward the end, and I feel like it lost the balance of making a story believable. It also seemed like Juliette's motives flew out the window later on, and it was difficult to stay connected.

Many parts of this book were fun to read, so it's not that I didn't like the book. I just feel sort of indifferent toward it. It was okay. I would still try another book from this author, though."
"I had mixed feelings about this book. But I absolutely HATED the ending. "

"ARC version

Personally, this book gradually made me angrier at Juliette, the main character, as the story went on. It was well written by how dislikable and unrelatable Juliette was. She is the novel form of the old meme "the overly attached girlfriend". With each passing chapter, this delusional, "mendacious" woman does something crazier than what she does in the previous chapter.

However, it's not just the main character but also the others. Half of them contributed no value to the story. The plot itself contained unnecessary branches and was somewhat predictable and disappointing.

It became difficult to get through the last 50 pages. Not the story for me."
"i received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. After a slow start, this book really notched up the crazy. Juliette/Elizabeth was a really creepy character. It was actually uncomfortable to read because you had a constant sense of dread about what she was going to do next."
"This one was not a winner for me. There was a slightly interesting twist related to Lauren, the female protagonist, but if you read the jacket of the book it was not really a surprise. I would suggest skipping this one unless you're in a pinch.

Thank you to NetGalley for the digital review copy."
