"The Room is a famously bad movie. It's made its money off being "so bad it's good." No one denies that it's bad, and some claim that it's the worst movie ever.
That said, I don't subscribe to the idea of "so bad it's good." I like many works that other people think are bad because I focus on the good elements, or because I sometimes call flair or sincerity what some others derisively call kitsch, camp, or cheese. But I've never loved a movie BECAUSE it was bad. As such, I have no love for The Room. It's poorly acted, poorly blocked, poorly shot, and poorly written. If more money had been involved in its production, then I'd be inclined to think that it was a product of a money-laundering scheme. If you like these kinds of movies, then you might enjoy this one. But I don't. "

"I'm not sure what to say I just really love this movie. It hits just right where it's so bad that it turns into really good again a masterpiece of trash. Just the complete incompetence of film making and how movies truly function is so beautifully done that I can watch it over and over."
"There’s so many factors that place this movie as a “disaster,” BUT the moment of redemption in the story is in the ending. I feel this is a true representation of the human tendencies and/ or mental illness and the effects from those around you. You’ve got the sociopath/narcissist, the martyr, and the lover. As much as Johnny helps and sacrifices he feels he’s betrayed because of his friends choices. And because of his internalized feelings, he does the thing in the end…. I don’t know. Maybe I’m thinking too much into it and wish for some complexity in such a simple film. "
