"I was very disappointed in this movie. Taron Egerton did a great job playing Elton John, but a lot of the songs were introduced in the movie out of sequence with his career. And I hated that they made it a musical (even though it's a movie about a musician.) I hate when people just break out into song in the middle of a scene. I would have preferred if it had been more like Bohemian Rhapsody, just a straight biography. 4/10"
"I'm not a musically girly to begin with so I knew already this wasn't going to be my cup of tea but still wanted to give it a try but it was of those annoying musicals were every other minute they are breaking into song and I just couldn't do it if you are musical fanatic this is right up your alley I guess I thought it would be more of on the biographical side of things but I didn't do my research 😅"
"A near perfect movie. Good acting (especially from Taron Edgerton), great soundtrack (it's Elton John so that's an obvious one), and great dancing! Just great everything! Not a movie if you're looking for straight up facts about Elton John. Watch a documentary for that. This movie is emotional. And great!"
"Wow just wow ! I absolutely loved this movie some parts made me cry . Taron Egerton was amazing in this movie I loved him in Kingsmen ! What an amazing actor with an amazing voice . The other actors were amazing also ! Bryce Dallas Howard as his mom was an amazing also . Elton’s mom was a piece of work and im being polite because I don’t know if we are allowed to swear here but she was so Toxic and I read the book Me and she was something else . His father was not to great either but a little less toxic . I cried when his dad asked Elton to sign his album for a co worker and when his dad picked up his step brother because he told Elton (Reggie) when he was little no hugs ! The only loving person in his family was his grandma! But he had so many addictions and issues (anger management!) but with rehab he got thorough except the shopping addiction lol ! But the video at the end of the song I’m still Standing was incredible! I thought it was the real Elton John but no it was Taron ! In the book Elton mentions that how amazing that Taron was and Elton wanted no lip syncing in this movie especially not Taron ! Anyway this was my favourite biopic! Loved it more than the Elvis one !
