"Not what I was expecting or hoping for. This movie plays out more like a suspenseful thriller with some action sequences sprinkled in. The basic storyline is reminiscent of First Blood where a drifter with a military background comes to a small town and is unfairly harassed by local police to the point where he needs to fight back. But that is where the similarities end. This is a more civilized and neutered version of that story created for a politically correct world. This marine always finds a less lethal option when fighting back, all while everyone else is trying to kill him. Disappointing, but not a horrible watch. Aaron Pierre does a fine job in the lead role and Don Johnson plays a corrupt cop very well. 6.5/10"

"I went into this expecting an action shoot em up movie. Instead what I got was an old school suspense drama. Instead of killing everyone, future star Aaron Pierre shows how a too good and too just man would handle the big bad. To pretty good effect. There are some head scratching plot pushers but it’s well written, acted. Fun movie. "

"The last bit of the movie was actually my least favorite part, not to say it was bad, but I loved how simple but effective many of the scenes before it were. Because of that, much of the end felt over the top in comparison, but I understand why they did it like that. The main character kicked some ass but Don Johnson can’t pull off a cool tough cop any longer like in Miami Vice. He moved around like his back hurt in the action scenes.
