"Toy Story 2 (1999) is a beloved animated sequel by Pixar Animation Studios that follows the adventures of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of Andy’s toys.
The story begins with Woody being accidentally damaged and left behind while Andy goes to cowboy camp. Afterward, Woody is stolen by Al, a greedy toy collector who owns Al’s Toy Barn. Al plans to sell Woody and a set of rare toys — Jessie the cowgirl, Bullseye the horse, and Stinky Pete the Prospector — to a museum in Japan. Woody discovers that he is a valuable collectible from a vintage TV show, Woody’s Roundup, but faces a dilemma between staying with his new "family" or returning home to Andy. Meanwhile, Buzz and the other toys — Rex, Slinky Dog, Hamm, and Mr. Potato Head — set out on a daring rescue mission. Along the way, Buzz confronts a delusional copy of himself and battles his nemesis, Emperor Zurg.
The film explores themes of loyalty, friendship, and the importance of embracing life’s changes. In the end, Woody decides that being loved and played with is more important than living as a museum exhibit, and he convinces Jessie and Bullseye to join him. They return to Andy’s room, reunited as a family. Known for its emotional depth, humor, and groundbreaking animation, Toy Story 2 has become a timeless classic.
