Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal. The disparate group includes rebel John, princess Claire, outcast Allison, brainy Brian and Andrew, the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently -- and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same.

"The teen movie to start all teen movies and tropes..or maybe just point them out but also break them down. What I love about this movie is that it’s still pretty relevant today especially the characters problems with each other, school and home life, I think there at least one of them you could relate to. Each character is their own person and isn’t all that they seem on the outside..I love and appreciate the scene where all sit down and actually have a conversation about themselves and their issues which in turn provides empathy and relation to one another. Its a classic for a reason and this one is well deserved. I could do without the makeover though but it was still cute and a way for the girls to get close so I understand it’s relevance."
