"🌟8/10🌟 A refreshing show that combines elements of comedy & drama with many endearing characters. I love the friendship between Sam & Joel, the two main characters. It’s fun & it’s full of heart ♥️ I want more of these lovable characters.
AFTERTHOUGHT: This show is extremely relatable, dealing with grief, self-doubt, and that feeling of being an outsider, which the main character Sam goes through. She’s struggling with not belonging in her small town and not connecting with her family (mainly her sister, but you’ll find out about their mom & dad, too), and the show doesn’t shy away from the sadness. It embraces it in a way that feels super genuine and relatable. Watching Sam find her way through the pain, slowly connecting with others, really feels healing without it being forced or fake.
Also, I adore her best friend Joel 🥰 He’s the sweetest, most gentle, genuine, low-key best friend anyone could ask for. He’s always comforting and real with Sam, but they even have a falling out in one of the episodes/seasons, which made it feel so real. It shows how, even with the people we love most, we can hurt each other—especially when we’re at our worst. We don’t mean to, but it happens, and this show just captures that rawness so well. It’s not all rainbows & butterflies (light and bubbly, that is), instead, it leaves room for hope and healing, even when life feels hard."
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 I love this show so much! It has a slow contemplative tone but there really IS a lot that happens and it is SO funny!! It’s partly about grief, partly about friendship, but mostly just about getting through the sh*tstorm of life. Naturally it’s a comedy.
My favorite thing is Sam’s totally can’t give a * attitude with living up to expectations. Absolutely refreshing! She’s just going to be who she is and without a single thought about what anyone thinks of her. LOVE it! Yes she’s a mess and I love that TOO. Because this show is about the messiness of life and it feels authentic and heartfelt in the quirkiest of ways. Almost like a less flamboyant Schitt’s Creek. Though it does have a flamboyance of its own!

"Honest and relatable with some great conversations, offering a little peek into someone’s life. Touching and funny. I put this on while I was doing some cleaning around the house, and found myself just watching, and not getting much done. So I’ll have to find a different background show, because this one is too good to miss. Season two has just started. 👍🏻"
"DON'T MISS this diamond in the rough story of finding yourself, your people, & cultivating your gifts at 40+!!! Bridget Everett is hilariously & delightfully golden in this realistic look at it being *Never Too Late* to INVEST IN YOURSELF, IN NEW FRIENDSHIPS & IN YOUR PASSIONS! Touches on family dysfunction, moreover, after grief hits each member differently. Grief isn't the weight of it; so please don't shy away from GIFTING yourself the inspiration Miss Everett offers! Sooo Bingeworthy! 5☆☆☆☆☆"
