The Perfect Couple

"FINAL REVIEW: This turned out to be just fine, and I enjoyed it, even though it wasn’t quite what I had expected in terms of depth & serious tone found in other murder mysteries like The Undoing or Big Little Lies. Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable #whodunit, that didn’t take itself too seriously, and was what Hollywood describes as “self aware,” making it feel more like a light mystery😊 🏖️ I have a feeling this will hit the #Netflix #TopTen very quickly and perhaps stay there for a while…. 🤷‍♀️ We shall see, but although I’ve only watched the premiere episode (and the first MINUTE of episode two—with a great #plot_twist I didn’t see coming!), THE PERFECT COUPLE (2024) seems like it’s going to be a good #drama with a #layered narrative where a #murder occurs in the very beginning and the plot slowly unravels or unfolds through #complex character interactions and #relationships, revealing key details and #secrets or hidden truths, piece by piece — I love shows like these, as they keep the #suspense alive! ▪️Similar TV series and movies that I’ve enjoyed with this same plot device are: Big Little Lies, The Undoing, The Others (all starring #NicoleKidman), Ozark, The Night Of, Mare of Easttown, Dark, Rectify, Broadchurch, True Detective, Mystic River, Prisoners, Gone Girl, Gone Baby Gone, Zodiac, and The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo 🐉 (Can anyone help me think of some others??)"

"Pretty decent murder mystery with a great cast. The plot ran a bit thin in the middle And some of the cast members had odd placements like the French lady and the young male family friend but it all kept along at a decent pace. The ending/ reveal was a shock although that last episode was tinged with a bit of a zany feel with somewhat of a nutty ending."

Nevertheless, I enjoyed it thoroughly, it is a drama mystery and 5 stars to all actors! 4 stars for dialog as a lot of unnecessary F bombs. It is a captivating watch with no cliff hanger at the end!
