"These are definitely two different books, just so that's known up front. Both are great. Very good reads. You'll see the same character names across both books, but the characters are different. There are other similarities too, but they're different stories. If I recall correctly, the release of these books was a way to merge Stephen King with his alternat pen name Richard Bachman. He had been releasing more books by using this pen name. The covers on the hard cover books match up, too. "
