#1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson series has been hailed as “one of the best” (Library Journal). Now Mercy must deal with an unwanted guest—one that brings a danger unlike anything she’s ever known. When her mate’s ex-wife storms back into their lives, Mercy knows something isn’t right. Christy has the furthest thing from good intentions—she wants Adam back, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get him, including turning the pack against Mercy. Mercy isn’t about to step down without a fight, but there’s a more dangerous threat circling. As the bodies start piling up, she must put her personal troubles aside to face a creature with the power to tear her whole world apart.

"Reread: this was my first time listening to this and I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite in the series. There are things I like about this and things that drive me crazy. The things that drive me crazy, I think, were meant to and they did the trick well. I love the battle between Mercy and Christy. Well, Mercy and Adam versus Christy, since Christy seems to box in a lot of people into a corner rather easily.

The wait was agonizing. But thankfully, it was well worth it in the end. I love Mercy. I love Adam. I love the pack. Christy? I'm voting this bitch off the island.

Things don't tend to say quiet long around Mercy and the pack. It was interesting to see how Adam and Mercy deal with his ex wife, her stalker and a mission that Mercy doesn't know how to complete. While I enjoyed this novel, a lot, I'm hoping that Adam starts to make his pack behave better towards Mercy and that Christy gets what is coming to her."
"Patricia Briggs is one of my favorite Paranormal Romance authors and this book proves it even more.

I love Mercy Thompson and every year, I sit with baited breath waiting for the next installment and I am never disappointed.

This book was a great one in the series. I love the how I am always on the edge of my seat with my adrenaline pumping hoping for the best but knowing things will be difficult and messy.

I love Adam and Mercy and have a deep seated hate for Christy.

If you love Adam, Mercy and the gang, you'll love this latest installment.

What's not to love: romance, panic attacks, werewolves, amazing fight scenes and a kick-ass heroine and hero?"
