'One of the best fantasy book series of the past decade' TIMEA glorious empire. A desperate quest. An ancient secret. The search for allies extends to a new land in the sixth book of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Chaol Westfall and Nesryn Faliq have arrived in the shining city of Antica to forge an alliance with the Khagan of the Southern Continent, whose vast armies are Erilea's last hope. But they have also come to Antica for another purpose: to seek healing at the famed Torre Cesme for the wounds Chaol received in Rifthold. After enduring unspeakable horrors as a child at the hands of Adarlanian soldiers, Yrene Towers has no desire to help the young lord from Adarlan, let alone heal him. Yet she has sworn an oath to assist those in need, and she will honour it. But Lord Westfall carries his own dark past, and Yrene soon realises that those shadows could engulf them both. Chaol, Nesryn, and Yrene will have to draw on every scrap of their resilience to overcome the danger that surrounds them. But while they become entangled in the political webs of the khaganate, long-awaited answers slumber deep in the mountains, where warriors soar on legendary ruks. Answers that might offer their world a chance at survival ... or doom them all. The final battle looms in this sixth book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series.

"Honestly, I liked this book a lot more than I thought I would. All the reviews I read had people trashing it because it was on the same timeline as Empire of Storm and they needed answers to that cliff hanger but it actually was really good???? SJM tied everything together so nice with a bow with this book and I think it was needed in context for the coming book. This also was the Chaol redemption arc i needed to not hate him anymore."
"So unbelievably boring. Chaol does not merit a whole book, and if he did, this ain't it.
Yrene deserves better. 2/5"

"This book receives a lot of hate from fans of the series and I don't understand why. The character development is rich. The overarching story is set up perfectly for the climax. The romances are beautifully written. Just an all around pleasing book. Read it in tandem with Empire of Storms for the maximum impact. 8/10"
"I decided to do the “tandem read” of Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn and could not recommend it more!! It was AMAZING! Whoever created it made the chapter transitions so smooth. It flowed so naturally that it felt like it was a single book. I chose to do this because EOS follows one group of characters and TOD follows a different set of characters along the same timeline. I’m so attached to them all I just couldn’t part from any of them. I’m so glad I did it this way. So worth it for me. I just love the intricate web Sarah weaves. The story has so much depth and complexity and I’m just eating it all up. The way the characters intertwine is so well thought out and genius to me. I cannot wait to start the last book in the series."
"Not going to pretend here because I don't know how to rate this. I'm furious at the predicament I found myself in only after a few chapters. The predicament being I did not read the summary and now find myself in a story of four characters. Practically the four I least care about. A story that is 660 pages, the same amount that the other main ten had. The math is not adding up. Not to mention that you were left on such a high cliff in Empire of Storms just to halt in the middle of plummeting. Disappointed to say the least.<br/><br/>Out if all the races and all the beautiful stories that could have been told your telling me the two most boring humans won out? So that being said I don't know how to rate this thru all the anger I harbored while reading it. It's a decent enough story but it wasn't necessary. Maas could have written it just as the others flipping from one character to the next. Or saved this for a side story because that was all it was. Now that I got that out maybe I can actually review this....maybe.<br/><br/>Like I said interesting enough though it lagged. Whether that was because of my anger or lost interest in the story, who knows. Though I did in fact like meeting an old friend. Leave it to Maas to bring back a character from six books ago who you barely knew and has now become so vital. It reminded me of just how many lives Aelin has touched, how many threads she has woven.<br/><br/>Also the added history to the world was appreciated. Even though 500 pages wasn't necessary the ones left were interesting enough. History thought to be lost or non existent. I leaned many new things met many more people who keeps adding to the tapestry of the world.<br/><br/>The world building was beautiful. It was easy to picture everything (maybe because all of the extra words). Ugh I know I'm being unreasonable so I might just have to stop here and rate again later when my rage has burned out. <br/><br/>One scene I did enjoy first though:<br/><br/>"The lack of feeling and movement begins at my hips." <br/><br/>Yrene's eyes shot right to them, dancing over him. "Are you capable of using your manhood?" <br/><br/>He tried not to flinch. Even Nesryn blinked at the frank question. "Yes," he said tightly, fighting the heat rising in his cheeks. <br/><br/>She looked between them, assessing. "Have you used it to completion?" <br/><br/>He clenched his jaw. "How is that relevant?" And how had she gleaned what was between them? <br/><br/>Yrene only wrote something down.<br/><br/>"What are you writing?" He demanded, cursing the damned chair for keeping him from storming to rip the paper out of her hands. <br/><br/>"I'm writing a giant no." Which she then underlined."
