The book dosent really have a main plot but it does help capture an actual middle/high school scene! Of course there are some unrealistic parts but its really good. I wasent really too into the book but there was something about it that kept me reading! Which is a great quality for a book. I wasent wxactly having a great time but i was having an ok time. There are quite a few slurs in this book mainly the f slur and the r slur. There are mentions of eating disorders as well. I would not reccomened this to my friends simply because it was not my favorite! I can see how people would like it though."

jesse_bures shared a tip "This was funny. This was sad. This was painful. This made me feel good. While this is in fact a fictional story, it definitely feels like an absolutely true diary. It felt like a 14 year old’s private thoughts being put on the page along with his account of his interactions with his community, both on the reservation and off of it. I can understand why parents may not want this to be apart of classroom curriculum in schools based on sometimes vulgar language, but I think it could absolutely be a part of any high school library. I think a lot of kids may see themselves in this story even if they weren’t raised on a reservation. It just feels so real. I highly recommend this book. It was a pleasure to read this."
