"SPOILER FREE REVEIW Not my usual type of story and deifibtly not my favroite genre so it will probabky be better if you like this genre so take what i say with a grain of salt! The book dosent really have a main plot but it does help capture an actual middle/high school scene! Of course there are some unrealistic parts but its really good. I wasent really too into the book but there was something about it that kept me reading! Which is a great quality for a book. I wasent wxactly having a great time but i was having an ok time. There are quite a few slurs in this book mainly the f slur and the r slur. There are mentions of eating disorders as well. I would not reccomened this to my friends simply because it was not my favorite! I can see how people would like it though."

"i think there’s something poetic about this book. it is my summer reading assignment so i pushed it off but i really shouldn’t have bc it is amazing. i’m a romance girlie til i die so i didn’t think i’d like this but i truly did. i was laughing, crying, disgusted, angry, happy, sad, and wishing i could hug a stranger. i was in high school, i was at a protest, i was in an abusive environment, i was kissing a girl i liked, i was living different situations, i was dying to meet these people, i was dying to not be those people, i was running away from everyone, i was running towards hope. "

"This was funny. This was sad. This was painful. This made me feel good. While this is in fact a fictional story, it definitely feels like an absolutely true diary. It felt like a 14 year old’s private thoughts being put on the page along with his account of his interactions with his community, both on the reservation and off of it. I can understand why parents may not want this to be apart of classroom curriculum in schools based on sometimes vulgar language, but I think it could absolutely be a part of any high school library. I think a lot of kids may see themselves in this story even if they weren’t raised on a reservation. It just feels so real. I highly recommend this book. It was a pleasure to read this. "

"The style of writing was intriguing and some of the expressions and raw honesty made me laugh. But there were also moments I wanted to cringe and cry because I hoped this isn't really the norm experienced by people in real life. Im not sure what age group this book is geared toward, but if its for youth, I would recommend oldest high school at the youngest."

"I read this for school, and oh my gracious. I HATED ittttt. I don’t usually hate books either! I really tried to get into it, but I just honestly never could. I just tried to finish it as fast as I could so I was just done with it. And the amount of vulgar language and inappropriate scenes was not in my liking. I would not personally recommend it, but some people could still enjoy it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Will not be reading ever again. 1/5 ⭐️"
