"I try to be positive on here but... With this book, I can't. Its so pretentious and misogynistic. Its such an unpleasant and dry read. The core ghost story surrounding the Navidson's is not engaging and the wraparound story regarding Truant features a narrator who isn't just unreliable, he's unlikeable. The formatting is the most interesting part of the book and is the reason its such a cult favorite. But the formatting literally makes the book a chore to read and is by far the most pretentious"
"Ever considered subscribing to Mystery Box? Hunt a Killer? Don't bother. This is all the enigma you'll ever need. Part horror story, part work of visual text-based art. Read it once for the story and a second time simply to marvel at the Lovecraftian unraveling of a mind scrawled in the margins. The book is not something that can be contained within its pages. The House of Leaves is a place you'll visit and revisit, unearthing something new and dark and fascinating every time."
"No I haven’t."
