"Fantastic sequel to Jurassic park. High paced and terrifying. The characters are not very relatable, but it is easy to see who is the bad guy and who is the good guy. Michael Crichton does a stellar job of giving his characters exactly what they have coming to them. Spoilers... On an island full of men, The girls save the day."
"I cannot get this book out of my head. It was just so striking how different The Lost World was compared to screen adaption(which in my opinion was entertaining but objectively a bad movie).

I really get the feeling that Crichton understood the scientific research that was put into this novel. He really understood the scientific and academic communities as well. Chrichton included wonderful teenage characters as well as some badass female characters.

This novel was everything I wanted from the Jurassic Park series. It was terrifying, yet enthralling, and I couldn't get enough. It touched on topics of generational knowledge, feminism, and issues in academia. There were also corporate espionage and government conspiracy theories. The Lost World had such a satisfying ending as well. I will definitely be reading more of Crichton's work in the future."
"Not as good as the first "

"This is not a very good follow up to Jurassic Park. First of all, it only brings back one character from the original novel, a character who not only died in that novel, but is also the least logical choice to make an expert on dinosaurs. This book is also very slow and overly long, mostly because Crichton stops the plot often so that characters can make speeches and explain either technology or a philosophy of the world to the reader. Finally, there are only so many times one can read about dinosaurs ripping people to shreds before it becomes a little tiresome."
