"5/5<br/>I loved The Time Traveler’s Wife. This is the perfect book. I actually read this book in early high school (aka a lonnnnng time ago). To this day it is still my all-time favourite book, which means I had to write a review on it. <br/><br/>My favourite aspect about this book is the dual-perspective. I love when authors have this type of writing, because it really let’s me invision each character and what they are saying. I’ve always been the type of person who pictures the looks of each character, including their voices. Audrey Niffenegger did a really good job with her descriptive writing, which made this novel a very easy read. <br/><br/>This novel is beautifully written. As you know, this book was created into a movie. I thought the movie was well done, however, the book is 10x better. [SPOILER ALERT] What I liked about the book, was that it showed Claire’s life without Henry (after he passed). It showed how her relationships between friends changed *cough cough* especially Gomez and his filthy hands. But, what was nice about the ending was that it showed the promise Henry made to Claire, and his follow through of returning to her as an elderly woman. I REALLY wish they included this in the movie, but, due to how much detail Niffenegger put into this read, I can understand why they didn’t as well. <br/><br/>Bravo."

"I wanted to like this book. So many people rave about it. Maybe they’ve seen the movie or the show, I haven’t and don’t plan on it now. This will go on my DNF list. It is so problematic. It’s romanticizes pedophilic grooming. It’s minority characters are portrayed in the most stereotypical ways, including their speech patterns. None of the characters are likable. Maybe in 2003 when it was released, its flaws were acceptable, but 20 yrs later, not so much."

"Was it just me, or were the characters just really hard to like? A really unique plot with so much potential, but I had such a hard time trudging through the flaws to get to the parts that were supposed to hook you. Also the constant use of sex as a coping mechanism was a bit overkill."
