"Five stars if the writing was any good. Bonus star for entertainment value.

I saw a Reddit thread on this book titled "Possibly the most entertaining terrible book I've ever read" and I can't agree more. This is one of those books that you enjoy in spite of the writing, like a friend telling you a funny story. I don't even remember why I chose the book to begin with except that it is narrated by someone I like and is rated over 4 stars? So I started it without knowing anything about it. Sometimes those are the best books!

This book starts with a baby being handed off from one man to another under suspicious circumstances. Time skips to the boy learning lessons and rules, then on to real life. So you have this guy who has grown up around adults only training and learning with a memorized set of at least 300 rules to guide him through the real world (rules he is under the assumption that everyone else in the world also operates by) - now, just sit back and enjoy without worrying or criticize the writing. Some of the characters are pretty cringy (the females especially, so far) but if you just embrace the spirit of the book it's so much fun. I hope the next book is just as fun.

A lot of people get very critical of OP main characters, but sometimes that is what Fantasy is all about. Also, as fantasy, every book doesn't have to be a literary masterpiece to be enjoyable."

"I was unsure about this book at first because of how “robotic” the main character was at first… now … now I cannot put this series down and I am wrapped in this series with its twists and turns and fantastic characters. This series will make you laugh out loud, cheer, scream, and cry. I just cannot get enough! I can’t wait for it to come to a conclusion, but at the same time I never want it to end. "
