"After a long slum of classics, this was the perfect book to drag me out of a reading slump. The book was fast-paced, well-developed, and well-rounded. I think the book excelled in many aspects of the story, so I’ll just be listing out minor issues that I found.

*SPOILERS BELOW*

First off, the synopsis is kinda of misleading of the relationship between Eve and Roarke. Yes, he’s presumed to be a leading suspect, but he gets cleared of that suspicion pretty early on in the book. For the remainder of the story, he becomes a side character whom Eve interacts with sometimes.

Plot twist? I guess. The plot twist was a twist indeed, but not as surprising as I had received it. At most, it was slightly disappointing.
————————————————————————————————————————————
Other than that, I think the book was an adventurous mystery crime novel with a fleshed out plot and array of characters. Praise to Nora Robert, Eve Dallas was a solid and consistent character throughout the book. Robert’s character personalities were diverse and interesting to see. I think whenever I’m bored, I can always pick up another Eve Dallas book!"
"Just finished. Was not expecting the twist at the end"

"I had forgotten how fast Roarke and Eve moved in this. On the reread, it a touch too fast, but in the end, I didn't mind since I liked how the "who dun it" part played the most important role.

At the moment, I'm up to book 37 and it's remarkable all the details I had forgotten. On this reread, I'm glad to be able to make notes of what is important (to me) and keep track. Like, for instance, the introduction of Charles. Oh, how I forgot about him but I enjoy him so much."
"In this series? No. They are all fantastic. I've read every one"
