"I loved Darling Rose Gold and had this one on my radar when I initially heard about it’s release.
This Might Hurt opens with a dark disturbing scene that held me captive throughout. Told from a place called Wisewood, where it brings all the “troubled/problem” people to hide outside of the grid.
Told from unreliable povs, sickening abuse, a cult and a family with hidden secrets…this is a book for the unscathed thriller junkie reader.

It’s not for everyone and if you require trigger warnings…well here is your warning lol."
"I absolutely loved the POVs. They were done so well and gave you just enough information that you could be guessing who was who without making it easy on you!

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
I have one bone to pick with this book, and that is character motivation. Kit betrays Jeremiah, but she confronts Teacher/Rebecca in the boat about keeping information from her. Kit twists Rebecca's teachings around to prove that she should've been told about her mother's death in order to become her Maximized Self. What I think the book needed was more of an indication that this altercation left Kit feeling superior to Rebecca when it came to following Wisewood's teachings instead of leaving her doubting them. We realize as Kit is about to off her sister (great ending which pushed this review to four stars!) that she is serious about taking over Wisewood, but up until that point, we're unsure what she's doing. I thought she left Teacher to die because Teacher betrayed her own teachings when dealing with Kit's ordeal with her mother. But while she got rid of Teacher, she didn't reconcile with Jeremiah, which makes the idea fall to pieces that she got rid of Teacher because she knew Jeremiah was right and that Rebecca was not who she said she was. However, the end leads us to believe instead that she abandoned Teacher so that she could replace her as a better embodiment of one who has reached their Maximized Self.

Overall, this book kept me turning the pages and needing to know what happened next! The uncertainty of Kit's motives at the end was the only thing that took away from the punch of the ending."
