NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “Mac is back and badder than ever!”—J. R. WardMacKayla Lane and Jericho Barrons return in the blockbuster Fever series from Karen Marie Moning. It’s easy to walk away from lies. Power is another thing. MacKayla Lane would do anything to save the home she loves. A gifted sidhe-seer, she’s already fought and defeated the deadly Sinsar Dubh—an ancient book of terrible evil—yet its hold on her has never been stronger. When the wall that protected humans from the seductive, insatiable Fae was destroyed on Halloween, long-imprisoned immortals ravaged the planet. Now Dublin is a war zone with factions battling for control. As the city heats up and the ice left by the Hoar Frost King melts, tempers flare, passions run red-hot, and dangerous lines get crossed. Seelie and Unseelie vie for power against nine ancient immortals who have governed Dublin for millennia; a rival band of sidhe-seers invades the city, determined to claim it for their own; Mac’s former protégé and best friend, Dani “Mega” O’Malley, is now her fierce enemy; and even more urgent, Highland druid Christian MacKeltar has been captured by the Crimson Hag and is being driven deeper into Unseelie madness with each passing day. The only one Mac can depend on is the powerful, dangerous immortal Jericho Barrons, but even their fiery bond is tested by betrayal. It’s a world where staying alive is a constant struggle, the line between good and evil is blurred, and every alliance comes at a price. In an epic battle against dark forces, Mac must decide who she can trust, and what her survival is ultimately worth.Look for all of Karen Marie Moning’s sensational Fever novels: DARKFEVER | BLOODFEVER | FAEFEVER | DREAMFEVER | SHADOWFEVER | ICED | BURNED | FEVERBORN | FEVERSONGPraise for Burned“Karen Marie Moning is back, delivering the kind of spellbinding, addictive, twisted tale we love to devour. "This is a great urban fantasy series!"

"2.5 stars

Well, after finishing this, I understand why there are quite a few people disappointed in this one. I had a feeling this would be a Mac book. Not that Mac is bad, but come on, she had her books! I wanted more about Dani. She held such a small part. Everything important that happened to Dani we missed. We don't know. Maybe that comes out in the next book, or maybe, like others have said, this was a filler book because there was an awful lot that I skimmed because I was bored. Bored! With a KMM book! There was a fair bit in here that I was interested in and that was what was on the back burner. I'm not sure why Mac got another book, I'm not sure why we didn't see Dani's side or even Ryodan's.

KMM is famous for her cliffhangers. This one is no exception. There is quite a cliffhanger and it pretty much ensures I read the next one, when it releases in the next 3-5 years (insert uncontrollable sobbing here). I'm really hoping that this series gets back on track and we get to see Dani and Ryodan but I have a feeling these books went from being about Dani to being about Mac. Dani's situation is interesting and I would love to see her side of things since we didn't this time around. She's a complete mystery and she has a hard road in front of her. I feel Mac's situation could be seen from a side character point, not the main focus.

I wish I could have liked this was more, the parts I enjoyed were all to brief and I spent too much time skimming the dull parts to get to the story. I'm really hoping for the next book to be a Dani book. I want an exciting book where I don't get bored enough to set it aside to play mindless games to entertain myself. I'm really hope the next one shines just like the first book."
