"Struggle Session podcast had a quote that rings true about this book. “You don’t read Watchmen as your first comic book.” This book will only hit the hardest if you were immersed in the archetypes and conventions of the superhero comic genre before it’s publication. Best I did was watch a few superhero cartoons. There’s still a lot you can glean from this book but without the previous mentioned background I feel that much of what this book is saying will fly over the average reader’s head… myself included. "
