"By The Book is in my hands and I could not be any more excited to celebrate it! Jasmine is on a short list of my tried and true comfort-read authors. I don't know how she manages to weave such depth into her characters while still making the whole reading experience feel SO GOOD AND NICE but she does, every single time." --Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author of People We Meet on Vacation and Beach ReadAccolades USA Today Bestseller An Amazon Book of the Month An Amazon Best Book of 2022 An Apple Best Book of 2022 The Root Books We Can't Wait to Read Bustle Most Anticipated Book Buzzfeed Best Book Harper's Bazaar Best Romantic Books of 2022 Sometimes to truly know a person, you have to read between the lines. Isabelle is completely lost. When she first began her career in publishing after college, she did not expect to be twenty-five, still living at home, and one of the few Black employees at her publishing house. Overworked and underpaid, constantly torn between speaking up or stifling herself, Izzy thinks there must be more to this publishing life. So when she overhears her boss complaining about a beastly high-profile author who has failed to deliver his long-awaited manuscript, Isabelle sees an opportunity to finally get the promotion she deserves. All she has to do is go to the author's Santa Barbara mansion and give him a pep talk or three. How hard could it be? But Izzy quickly finds out she is in over her head. Beau Towers is not some celebrity lightweight writing a tell-all memoir. He is jaded and withdrawn and--it turns out--just as lost as Izzy. But despite his standoffishness, Izzy needs Beau to deliver, and with her encouragement, his story begins to spill onto the page. They soon discover they have more in common than either of them expected, and as their deadline nears, Izzy and Beau begin to realize there may be something there that wasn't there before.Best-selling author Jasmine Guillory's achingly romantic reimagining of a classic is a tale as old as time . . . for a new generation.

"3.5/5
This one was okay. loved that they are book lovers and writers as our main characters. love that in books. I really liked our main girl. The guy was just to cringe for most of the book; there were a few cute moments here, and it got deep at times which I didn't expedi but added to the characters. I did like them together in the end, but it took way too long for me to get invested. I think this would be a great summer read had all the summe atmosphere and also had a beauty and the beast feel, which was honestly cute"

"I was really reluctant to keep reading this book because it started off so cheesy. Izzy talks to a bathtub and hears it talking back to her. I get this is a nod to Beauty and the Beast but it really just made me roll my eyes. However, this book really improved as it went on. The relationship between Izzy and Beau really improved and I liked how their communication improved throughout the book. However, I feel like so much of the relationship revolves around the snack cabinet, which is just weird"

"I enjoyed the initial Meant to Be book and once I saw Jasmine Guillory writing the second of the series, I knew this would be a must read for me.
The MC is a 25yo black female who has been dreaming of working in the book business for as long as she could remember. However, the publishing company she works for,is becoming worse for wear and she is struggling with paying her bills with no potential growth in her future. That is until she winds offering to babysit a celebrity who was supposed to write his memoir two years ago.
Things can heat up quick when you are in close proximity to each other, especially when you need to be vulnerable to write."
"While I do think this book was cheesy, I don’t think it had to be revolutionary. it stuck to its guns on romance and I’m really glad it did! I adore the characters and I think it did a really good job building up beau and the relationship and some times you just need a fluffy romance and that’s what I needed at the moment. "
"This books started off really cute and funny for me. About midway through it started to lose me. Still a cute read if you’re into rom-com"
