"Talk about one of my worst nightmares. I have imagined myself helpless in a penitentiary. No one to believe a word I say no one to save me. This story still felt relevant today government control vibes around every corner. Being forced to conform to what society believes is best. Always a power stuggle while someone chips at you piece by piece.

Though I don't agree with Murphy's character, he did seem to see thru the others and want to help in small ways. Jack Nickolson personified this character so completely it was difficult not picturing him while reading. I also thought it interesting not being seen thru his point of view.

It was entertaining the shifting of power between Murphy and Ratchet. Both natural born leaders with gifts of their own. We all knew how it would end though. Also the wild dreams from Chief threw me for a loop. He made the line between fiction and reality a blur. I love when a book makes you question what is real."
"Love the movie so i decided to read the book. I love how it went more into details with the characters. I felt like i got to know them better. I highly recommend reading the book if you loved the movie or vice-versa 5/5"
