"Let me start by saying the main character was insufferable! One idiotic decision after another. There were so many times I wanted to smack her around and ask her what she was thinking. This was fairly quick paced and definitely got better towards the end. Not my favorite by Freida, but not as bad as The Inmate. 3.5 out of 5 stars "
"I gave The Boyfriend three stars. The story was interesting enough to keep me reading, but it wasn’t one that completely grabbed my attention. It follows Sydney as she navigates a relationship with Tom, whose secrets and past slowly unravel, and his peculiar best friend, Gretchen, who adds a layer of intrigue and unease to the plot.
The ending was a bit unexpected, but it wasn’t mind-blowing either, more of a twist that wraps things up in a satisfying yet predictable way. The characters were solid, with Gretchen being particularly memorable as her obsession and true intentions unfolded. Overall, it’s a decent psychological thriller with a mix of suspense, dark secrets, and an exploration of obsession, though it didn’t quite reach the level of a standout read for me."
