"Informative, detailed, and intriguing!

The Death of Democracy, authored by Benjamin Carter Hett, is an outstanding novel; I’d argue it’s an eye-opener that deserves to be read by all! Being passionate about history, I have read numerous books about historical events, but this one stood out! Throughout the book, Hett explains various factors that led to the death of democracy in Germany and the rise of the infamous Nazis. This book answers the question asked by many: How did Hitler even come to power?

Upon discovering that Hitler was elected to power; I have often questioned, why did the German populace support Hitler? Of course, that’s not an easy question to answer, which is why Hett’s attempts to answer it resulted in the publication of a 280-page book. Hett’s novel helped me understand how abundant factors play a role and how important every little detail is. The author delved into the intricacies of the world following the First World War, and pinpointed why the little details matter! The world of politics is often deemed quite complex, and this book showcases why that is.

Now, this may not be one of the classic YA fiction books we’re all used to reading, but it’s one that I believe everyone should take a look at! I know that history is not for everyone; in fact, despite my passion for the subject, I find myself often primarily reading fantasy fiction novels. However, Hett’s ability to captivate readers through his word choice was something that fascinated me, and so I truly believe that many readers, whether they are history fans or not, will be intrigued by The Death of Democracy."
