Rose I’m reading it now. A song that comes to mind is “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by The Beach Boys.

kitty cat I can't give you a song or an asthetic because it's more complicated than that, but this book paints a traditional Chinese family, Chinatown (in SF), gay clubs in SF and the experience of discovering your sexuality and dating in secret. Also microagressions from other queer people in the club. It's pretty spicy.
