Anyone else get a little uncomfortable when they see someone ask for any kind of specific "spicy" lgbt+ show or book? Like maybe they're just fetishizing it? I see those asks way more than the homophobic ones now, but either one tends to make me feel the ick. Does NOT help the profiles asking for spicy mlm stuff are very feminine presenting, which is who usually does sexualize gay men. đ

Jojo I was going to bring this up the other day when I saw something like this but decided against it. Because some people actually like that stuff although it's not my cup of tea. I have seen the whole women loving women and men loving men type of asking before. And I'm feeling the same way you do but at the same time you're into whatever you're into

Marsh i used to be way more bothered by it, but recent likewise mod failures have made my standards plummet like a rock. at this point i'm just relieved if i can go a whole day without having to see some shapiro fan complaining about how things are too 'political' these days, racists wanting 'nonwoke' stuff, or homophobes saying 'no lgbt'. yes, there definitely can be fetishizing involved, BUT it can be complicated. some people are gay trans men/gay-identifying enbies but haven't realized it yet. as long as it's not a minor asking me to provide them with p0rn, and they can differentiate fantasy from reality (not going up to some gay men and saying sh!t like 'oh i bet you're a bottom' or fetishizing them IN REAL LIFE, i have SEEN SOME SH!T) i'm more ok with it. i do hope that straight women looking up gay romance will also research queer history and the current and historical oppressions queer people experience. oh and PLEASE don't publish your cringy fanfic with all the names changed. keep that online thank you.

Marsh i also wanna add that i'm mildly more bothered by people wanting 'clean' things. it's just a very puritanical point of view and it gets on my nerves, especially if they're sex-negative/slßtshamy. not to mention 'clean' has a lot of those undertones i'm not a fan of. maybe it's just bc i'm used to seeing the word misused to refer to HIV-/+, when the proper term is seronegative/positive.

grace I also hate âspiceâ but every time I wrote something else likewise blocked it out and it is definitely better than lemon

grace It used to bother me a lot but honestly the spice industry is so hostile to women a lot of times mlm spice is the only thing available to women that isnât steeped in sexism. So even if itâs a little creepy sometimes I def understand it.
