Topic: The Phantom of the Opera
Thoughts? I'm thinking about getting it. I love the movie with Emmy Rossum, but I'm scared it won't have as much romance.

There is some romance in this one, but the story is very dark and the romance almost more of a sub plot. There are some gothic/horror elements. If that's your thing, you'll probably like it - if you are wanting a sweet but sad music themed romance, I would suggest Sing Me Forgotten by Jessica S Olson

the romance is definitely lesser in the book than the joel schumacher movie (my personal favourite adaptation is phantom of the paradise but that doesn't seem to be what you're looking for) erik is certainly not a romantic option and raoul is honestly a possessive dick for most of it. definitely worth the read tho!! i had the time of my life reading it.
