Hey Classics Corner! It’s time for a reading check in. Of course one of my favorite parts of being a host is checking out what everyone is reading. So.. what have you been reading? Love it? Or is it inducing a book slump?

Juliet Shalu Castillo I am going to reread Murder on the Orient express this weekend in preparation for our upcoming live discussion event in Mystery Mob. I am also reading Bright Young Women about a serial killer that spans a couple of decades.

Brandon Reed I need to hop on that. I can usually knock out a Poirot in a couple days.

Sandy Lopez I’ll have to put it on my TBR!

Ella F Started Ruthless Vows and it’s just not hitting the same as Divine Rivals. The story is still good it’s just something feels different about it and it’s taking me longer to finish.

Brandon Reed I've been in a major slump. The only book I've read recently was The Grapes of Wrath, and I'm only just realizing I missed the discussion on that 😅

Juliet Shalu Castillo @MarlinBrando Ha! Guess what? Sandy and I have had the worse technical luck with the events that we had to reschedule again. 🫨 So we decided to try and end the “curse” by taking a few weeks off. So The Grapes of Wrath discussion will be coming up either the end of May or beginning of June.

Blayre Oden I'm currently reading The Screwtape Letters. It's insanely thought provoking, I love it and it's my first religious text. I'd say the concept bests every other classic I've read!

Juliet Shalu Castillo @blayre_oden Bravo! The Screwtape Letters is C.S. Lewis at his best. One really cannot go wrong reading any of his work. ❤️

Brandon Reed The Screwtape Letters is a favorite of mine, too. There's also a stage production that's phenomenal, if you ever get a chance to see it. It's a pseudo-one-man-show (another demon does a lot of and pantomiming and incoherent vocalizing).

Heather Woodyard I'm currently reading Forty Words For Sorrow by Giles Blunt. He's a Canadian writer and I watched the television series Cardinal that used the books as the plot.

Sandy Lopez I have been reading some really good books in the past couple of weeks. I just finished James by Percival Everett and Violeta by Isabel Allende. I am currently reading It would be night in Caracas by Karina Sainz Borgo.

Candice I'm just finishing Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead. It's a good story and cleverly plotted. Lots of info about aviation, weather, war, families and more!
