Ryn Dilkwen it/it’s I’m going to be real for a second most women who write BL stories and men who write Gl stories and straight people thinking they can write queer stories I have a lot of unpopular beliefs but like if you look at Rainbow rowell and then Adam Silvera you can FEEL the difference in the romance of the two queer love stories

Risse Richards I often wonder about that. I will check out the authors you mentioned, and please keep them coming. I think it’s a really important discussion to have given the popularity of queer romance novels. Even the most well-intentioned authors miss nuances.

Dylan Thomas (she/her) One series I read that had queer characters in it, but I personally felt were utilized poorly was The Furyborn series. One of the main characters is Bi (which is great! There needs to be more bi-representation in media), but I feel like the author just kind of threw it in just for brownie points? And it felt less like just casual representation (which I think is super cool, it’s awesome to see queer characters existing without their entire story arc being about their queerness) but it felt less like casual representation and more like just putting in representation just to say you have it.
