Random but should I get on Goodreads? I use Storygraph a lot and love their stats and content warning features. Goodreads seems like it has a couple good features, like the lists and telling you how many people are 'currently reading' a book. What are y'all's opinions ?

Glowbunny I don't use Goodreads. 1) I know Amazon owns it. 2) I feel like between Storygraph and my personal log I'm able to track most of the metrics that I find important. 3) I use this space and a couple of others online and in person for book discussions. I feel like I have all my bases covered. Every once in awhile - I need a book spoiled and the review that my search generates is from Goodreads - but that would be the extent of my use of the platform. That's what works for me and where I stand. I know there are others out there that find value in using it. I just don't. There's my 2 cents!

Hailey I currently use Goodreads but I'm trying out Fable. What's to like: I like how easy to navigate it is...You can enter giveaways to get arcs/finished copies... You can follow authors and see what their reading, see the books their reading, books they have written and books their working on.....What's not to like: I'm not a fan of Goodreads being tied to Amazon...I think alot of users are a little unhinged when it comes to reviews that are like literal essays like, it ain't that deep, babe, calm down...Sometimes the app is slow and glitchy...Overall, don't hate but don't love it.

Max Edge Very true that goodreads reviews can be unhinged. I find much less of that on Story Graph which I appreciate.

Hailey I only recently joined Fable so I haven't fully explored it yet but I think it's aesthetically nicer... You can give .25, 1/2, .75 star ratings (which you can't do on GoodReads)...The way you can write reviews is cooler imo cause you can rate with an emoji, add tags for plot, content warnings, writing etc....if you're looking at a specific book, there's a 'Similar' section that lists similar books...There's also a 'posts' section that almost looks like a reddit/discussion board that talk about the book in question (people even add photos!)...But it's obviously not as big and popular as GoodReads - authors and big name booktoker's/influencers aren't on there (atleast, none that I've seen), which isn't a deal breaker for me but I'd like to be able to follow authors on there.

Glowbunny Fable kind of sounds similar to Story Graph - there seems to be a lot of similar functions and features. I've not used Fable, but from your description it sounds adjacent.

Róisín Mullen You should use Fable instead, it’s like Goodreads, but cuter. It gives you a little summery of what kind of reader you are that changes every time you add a book. I use StoryGraph because I like the stats and Fable because I like the aesthetic
