Seven Samurai

"Be prepared when you see this film: it is 3 hours and 30 minutes long. I finally saw the excellent Japanese film that the American film "The Magnificent Seven" is based on. It is so immersive: we see the hardships of the villagers, the Samurai and their code of honour in battle, the horrors of war, and a little bit of humour in coping with life's difficulties. I truly enjoyed the strong storyline and acting. The battle scenes seemed raw and realistic. Japanese audio. (There is a 5-minute Intermission.)"

There’s something mesmerizing about watching people from the 16th century being sarcastic and cracking jokes. The humor humanizes the Samurai, making them relatable to modern audiences. "
