And of course I always like Toni Collette —all the acting was great. The teenage son, “Peter,” had a good “freak out” scene in the classroom in the last 30 minutes (that was some really good acting, lol) … and those creepy dioramas, & those ants!! 🐜 🐜 🐜 🙀"

"I remember walking out of the theaters the day I saw this movie and my hope in horror was restored. It was one of the best I’d seen in so long it was like has fresh water after being deprived of good drinking water for years. Toni Collette should of won an Oscar..I know those things don’t matter and it’s all bs but an award for acting should be awarded to someone who did the best..and she ate and left no crumbs..she ate the whole table. "Wow....I mean it's an excellent film....Brutal af, powerful, and literally hurt my insides. You should know going into it that it's not just horror movie brutality, it hurts your heart as well. This is honestly the weirdest brand of truly *upset* I can ever remember feeling from a film. Closest I can remember was the icky feeling I had after Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream, but the difference is I wanted to watch Requiem over and over right away. It will be a long time before I can handle this particular shade of horror again😅"

I consider Hereditary to be their flagship horror movie. It'll give you a type of unease and discomfort that is a couple of steps beyond most horrors. It's best to jump into it without reading about it or watching trailers."
