"It’s awful. Everything you hated about the first one is doubled down on, the continuity from the last movie (especially when they said they were ONLY doing a sequel to the original movie and not adapting Silent Hill 3) is completely shredded, the monster designs look awful when they’re not stolen, the characters (in spite of Heather getting a decent actor) have absolutely nothing to do with their counterparts and barely make sense in-universe, and the 3D is obnoxious! I already hated the original but let me ask you this—which is worse: a story that tries to work with its own ideas (however flawed or even bad they are) and fails, or a movie with no ideas at all blindly sprinting forward while tripping and crashing into everything in its way? As a sidenote, someone should’ve pulled the director aside and told him “I know it’s a horror movie, but that doesn’t mean shooting every other scene like it’s a crappy Nine Inch Nails music video”. And don’t even get me started on Pyramid Head being shoehorned in here JUST for fanservice to fight some Cenobite demon like this was Alien vs. Predator. This movie is so bad it makes Silent Hill: Homecoming look like Silent Hill 2. "
