"I think Sam reimi had more scaled back plans for this movie but due to executive meddling we get three conflicts in this movie that don’t exactly mesh well together. Whatever the black suit/dark side is the main attraction anyway and I love it for that. Something that gives you more power yet amplifies your negative traits is pretty compelling stuff. The current MCU wishes they could have a PG-13 movie that had this much edge and be funny at the same time. "
"4/5*s
The weakest link in the trilogy, I still don't think it's as bad as critics and it's haters say. There is definitely a lot going on and can seem convoluted but it's actually quite easy to follow.
He has to deal with Sandman, Harry Osborn (aka New Goblin and previous best friend), an extraterrestrial symbiote, and eventually, Venom. All while trying to deal with the life of trying to be a good boyfriend to Mary Jane, and failing miserably. People didn't like Peter Parker in this movie, which is understandable. BUT! If you see him as just a real human being trying to deal with too much, you can understand how he is being misunderstood by fans. Because ultimately, he's just a boy who got super powers while dealing with being awkward and geeky and bullied and who has never had a girlfriend and has no idea how to treat one or deal with all the pressure and newfound fame of being a superhero. If you look at it that way, you can't help but feel for him... and the symbiote takes advantage of all that, including his intense anger and disgust in himself for...
SPOILER ALERT!
"killing" the wrong murderer of Uncle Ben.
If you haven't seen this yet, go into it with an open mind regarding how all this would affect you, or anyone else in this situation. Would you react perfectly? No? Then why should you expect Peter Parker to?
This was a nicely done ending to this trilogy, in my opinion. "
