"We watched this movie in advanced English in my Junior year so that my teacher could take an international call. My love, Viggo Mortensen, is in this, so I was happy to see him on screen. "This is exactly how I would imagine a book adaptation to screen would be. It's set up in a structure that a book would be... The actors did so well with the material they were given. Sean Connery did such a good job with his nuanced, mysterious character. Sam Neil was very interesting, and I felt sympathy for his character's death. In fact, all of the actors were so good with the material they were given. Jack Ryan is a character whom I have not watched or read anything about, but this was a very good introduction. This movie was quite tense, and a slow burn, but personally, it wasn't the most interesting or engaging film. It's not bad, but it is not exactly a film I'll be re-watching anytime soon. I'm happy I watched it however, even if it wasn't a film I didn't exactly love. 7.5/10"
