Fantastic! As soon as I saw this advertised, I couldn’t shut up about wanting to watch it. Caught it on ABC. Very creative, lovely, enjoyable. I nearly cried at the fact that 30 YEARS have really passed by. Seems like just yesterday I was a young chicken, watching BatB and remembering the credits rolling as my mama went to draw my bubble bath. Time flies.

My recommended go-to for silent film lovers wanting to know more about Rudolph Valentino: The Great Lover. This documentary is a thoughtful crash course on Rudy’s life, both personal and on-screen. ❤️

Beautiful poems penned by silent film actor Rudolph Valentino, during a personal one-man strike. I believe I read somewhere that Rudolph possibly channeled his thoughts from his higher self to write this poetry collection - he was super into mysticism and all that ☺️ We may never really know the answer to that. But this book is nicely presented, and makes for the perfect one-sitting read for a cozy weekend afternoon 💕

Went into this blindly (as I do with most movies), not having read the description. I thought it was a Beauty and the Beast film idk idk. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that **Belle** is based on a true story ~ a true story about Ms. Dido Elizabeth Belle, a bi-racial woman who helped end slavery in Britain. Inspiring.

Not a feel-good film by any means imo, but worth a watch. I believe Oscar Wilde must’ve been a very interesting man. Many aspects of his life were tragic, really. Especially in the end. The last years of Oscar’s short life, as well the wide range of emotions felt by Oscar and all in his circle, are thoughtfully explored in The Happy Prince.

Silly and witty re-imagining of a classic. The blaring juxtaposition of modern music and slang with Renaissance fashions and backdrop tickled my funny bone 😆 A light watch for a weekend afternoon or evening. Or anytime! Sean Teale as Dario… 🥵🔥

Really good! I am uncultured swine, as I didn’t realize Effie Gray was an actual person. Worse, I went to a specialty school… to study art… How could I be so spectacularly ignorant? Embarrassing! 😭 Anyway, knowing a bit about Effie’s story, I feel, would be helpful to viewers. I say this, because some bits between Effie and Millais’ relationship felt vague and a bit confusing at times. At least, to me, anyway. (?? 😰) Emma Thompson, as usual, was great. She can do no wrong. She wrote the screenplay, and her hubz, Mr. Willoughby (lol 😉), plays Effie’s spouse, art critic & philosopher, John Ruskin. Beautiful filming locations, love the era represented (Victorian).
