This mini series frustrated me a bit. Netflix took advantage of Stanley Tucci fans with misleading marketing. His storyline was unfortunately secondary to David Tennant's and he had about half as uch screen time. This didn't really feel like a mystery more like a drawn out exploration on morality.
So I NEVER, EVER planned to watch this show. ABC marketed it as a Nathan Fillion fest, and I wasn't down for that. But a clip of it started being shared on Tiktok featuring Alyssa Diaz, ( who is remarkable and deserves buckets of flowers by the way.) So I started to watch it for her. I'm so glad I did. It's well written, balances serious plotlines with humor and compassion, relevant to life today without feeling like an after-school special and I enjoy the character friendships. Love watching Richard T. Jones, Melissa O'Neil, Mekia Cox and the whole cast.

A very unique show. Dark, cool and unexpected.

So last week I watched the original series , well I watched as much of it as I could. Then read up on how it ended. Then I dove into this beauty. I'm glad I gave myself this little education. This 👉🏼 is how you make a reboot! The original premise is done in such a fresh new way for a new generation of TV viewers. These characters feel and look real, ( beauty women that don't look like they've spent hours with a MUA.) They deal with real life issues but the show doesn't feel like a PSA. And the gore in this is great. It's overall a wonderful grittier version with a few of the old themes. ( What is with the writer of the PLL books and TWINS?!?)
