Life with Derek is a Canadian television sitcom that aired on Family and VRAK.TV in Canada and on Disney Channel in the United States. The series premiered on Family on September 18, 2005, and ran for four seasons, ending its run on March 25, 2009. The series starred Michael Seater and Ashley Leggat as the two oldest children in a stepfamily. It ended with 70 episodes and one spin-off television film, entitled Vacation with Derek.

"I used to love this show when I was little. When watching it now, I find the parents idiots. The kids make some logical points, but most of the time are just spoiled brats. Take the first episode for instance the 2 families just moved in together. It is logical that the girls shouldn't share a closet of a room. After fighting over who gets the older brother's room, the parents decide to make the basement a livable area. I'm talking insulation, drywall, paint, carpet, furniture. That is so expensive. I personally find the room hideous, but if I was the kid I would totally take it. It's separate from the rest of the kids and has its own private bathroom. The 2nd episode is about not having enough space including the bathroom. I mean come on girl you had your chance shouldn't be complaining about the bathroom now when you could of had your own. Unbelievable. "
