"Before this starts I'm almost at the end of the show.
I'm not a big fan which ****** writing, gross out humor, and annoying characters which this show seems to have alot of, unfortunately. When it takes itself seriously in the main plot, ( like with frank, or Kevin, ) I can get interested. But it just seems like the show doesn't seem to really give a **** about it's side characters, and just wants to be another raunchy, knock off family guy clone. Like "Fugget about it" or something. And another thing is that this show relies on gross out humor ALOT more than I mentioned. I just consider it gross and stupid. And it sort of displays a lack of skill, talent, or belief in your own writing. But as for the main characters it seems like they put in something. Like the main family seems like the only believably real characters on the show. It just seems like everyone else exists in some sort of bubble or something. The writing for the side characters is lazy and not great either. And I really just didn't care for the writing alot of the time whenever it wasn't focusing on frank or at least a tolerable main cast member. And holy ****, that one kid in this show is annoying. I don't know his name but the one that says "you know what?" I honestly can't stand his entire family. It's just indicative of that side character problem I was talking about. O know I'm harping on this one but It really brings the show down for me personally. When I watch the show I can tolerate it but when I'm not these problems I listed is basically what I think of first about this show.
I did love the plot with frank and his father since it did seem well thought out."
"This is one of the most entertaining and hilarious shows I’ve ever see. I’m not one that laughs much, but if you’re a lover of comedy and aren’t sensitive to certain topics like drugs, alcohol, war, etc. (the show takes place in the 50s-60s) then this might be a show for you. It’s about a dysfunctional family that is managing to deal with each other. I binged watched this show with my sister in the summer and we were always excited to see the next episode. Looking forward to the next season! "
"Hilarious and raunchy show about the joys and (mostly) pains of being stuck with your family and obligations. Starring Bill Burr as the vulgar loudmouth patriarch, Frank and Laura Dern as the long-suffering matriarch, Susan. It's somehow charming as hell."
