NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The first volume in the internationally acclaimed MaddAddam trilogy is at once an unforgettable love story and a compelling vision of the future—from the bestselling author of The Handmaid's Tale and The TestamentsSnowman, known as Jimmy before mankind was overwhelmed by a plague, is struggling to survive in a world where he may be the last human, and mourning the loss of his best friend, Crake, and the beautiful and elusive Oryx whom they both loved. In search of answers, Snowman embarks on a journey—with the help of the green-eyed Children of Crake—through the lush wilderness that was so recently a great city, until powerful corporations took mankind on an uncontrolled genetic engineering ride. Margaret Atwood projects us into a near future that is both all too familiar and beyond our imagining.

"An amazing book about how the smallest of things can completely change the world. Pigoons make me wary, and blue penises just made me laugh. I feel like this was also a modern Frankenstein, as Crake definitely delved into something he shouldn't have. I've read the rest of the trilogy, but this is by FAR the best."
"I’ve loved almost anything by #margaretatwood but The MaddAdam Series is one of my favorites. She is not a one hit wonder with #thehandmaidstale She’s been writing #dystopian_fiction for years and she’s great at it. "

"The trilogy itself is amazing, but I feel that this was the most underwhelming in the series. It was a little difficult to get into, but if you like dystopia and the Handmaids Tale, it’s worth it to get into the series and read the rest of the trilogy. I read Year of the Flood first, which didn’t make much of a difference if you’re wondering. "
"The beginning to a truly fantastic trilogy. The blood is very intense, but once you’re in it, you’re in it all the way."

"Atwood has the ability to create a what if that is so eerily believable. "

"My brand new #1 favorite series of all time. This series is so complex, I have never read anything that compares to it. This book looks at the deepest and uglies pits of humanity and brings them out into the light. We look at ourselves, our past, future and weakness and meet them with humanity. This book is beautiful and dark and I could never do it justice here. Not for the faint of heart. Has themes of murder, SA, cannibalism, and child abuse. "
