RebekahOne of my favorite rewatches. Losing Heath Ledger was pure heartbreak. I believe this is an adaptation of Shakespeares Taming of the Shrew which I’ll admit I don’t think I’ve read. The father of the two girls is hilarious. It kind of reminds me of the joy I felt watching Clueless which is an adaptation of a Jane Austen story. Some stories are just timeless and good adaptations are winners. Don’t miss the erotica writing school counselor.
RebekahRelistening to it right now after seeing Wicked movie. They are different. When I first read it years ago, I remember it as being very enlightening, thoughtful, some scandalous parts but for the most part enjoyable different. I also read Son of a Witch, but stopped in the middle of A Lion Among Men. I guess the magic wore off at that point. This is a fine standalone book.
RebekahStarted this show and enjoyed it, but only got a few episodes in when I forgot about it or got distracted, not sure. Came across a reminder that season 2 was coming out in November and decided to pick up the books as well. I was watching and reading the books simultaneously and got very invested. The first season captures about 1/2 first book. Although the first book Wool was actually a group of Novellas the author had written. I had been recently relistening and rewatching Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, almost forgot how much I love Dystopians. It’s a great dive into a sometimes claustrophobic world. The main question is 100%truth vs crafted deception to keep the population healthy and happy.
