Christina Lauren
Christina Lauren, the instant New York Times bestselling and “reigning romance queens” (PopSugar), returns with a delicious new romance between the buttoned-up heir of a grocery chain and his free-spirited artist ex as they fake their relationship in order to receive a massive inheritance.Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways. Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance. There’s just one catch. Due to an antiquated clause in his grandfather’s will, Liam won’t see a penny until he’s been happily married for five years. Just when Liam thinks he’s in the home stretch, pressure mounts from his family to see this mysterious spouse, and he has no choice but to turn to the one person he’s afraid to introduce to his one-percenter parents—his unpolished, not-so-ex-wife. But in the presence of his family, Liam’s fears quickly shift from whether the feisty, foul-mouthed, paint-splattered Anna can play the part to whether the toxic world of wealth will corrupt someone as pure of heart as his surprisingly grounded and loyal wife. Liam will have to ask himself if the price tag on his flimsy cover story is worth losing true love that sprouted from a lie.

"This is my favorite Christina Lauren book I've read so far! It was so amazing! West was so sweet, and I absolutely adored Anna! This book was hilarious and the romance was top tier! Marriage of convenience, fake dating/marriage, slow burn, opposites attract, second chance, dual POV, and tropical/summer vibes! Neverending humor and a bit of spice to top it all off! The plot was so good, and there's plenty of family drama! This is definitely one of my new favorites! If you're looking for your next summer read, I 100% recommend checking this book out!"
"Let me preface this by saying that I used to pick up any book that was Christina Lauren I love them so much. But, as they come out with more books I find myself rolling my eyes and trying just to get to the end. There were many reasons I didn't like this book. One, Anna was quite aggravating. I actually really didn't like her personality, didn't find her "quirky" or "endearing" just quite frankly annoying. She acts all high and mighty because she's not rich and doesn't act the way the rich do and has mini meltdowns whenever something happens with the family using their money. Given I'm not defending the family, they're whack and mean and yes human beings should be treated decently but like could you chill? She was storming out and hyperventilating over dumb things in my opinion. Also I really hated that she was like "ugh I hate the way you use money like how dare you try to be romantic" like girl get over yourself. Okay other than that, the sex scenes were too graphic for me (they usually are) and I don't enjoy them. Also, I think the main dynamic here I didn't like was West being completely infatuated with Anna so it seemed like everything he did wasn't justified. Like he would get mad and he would think "I shouldn't get mad it's not fair and doesn't make sense" but almost never saw that with Anna's pov. I also loathe when things become very modernized and constantly mention modern day things (e.g. TikTok, Instagram influences, trends etc.) And I know this is a contemporary book but do you have to mention tiktok memes? I just find it irritating. That being said, I think Christina Lauren writes really well and I stayed up all night reading this book because I did enjoy it some at the end of the day. The writing and pacing is really done well which I think is the reason I keep going back to Chrisitina Lauren books. Anyways I have a lot of opinions on this book but overall it's written well and the romance and tension are definitely there. "
