"A masterclass in portraying a sense of an untamed yet euphoric setting. With Lubezki at the helm as cinematographer, and armed with the Arri Alexa 65, the result is a gigantic adventure with a scope as wide as its constant lens choice. Undeniably impressive in its set-piece moments: Native American attacks, bear encounters, coyotes, buffaloes, waterfalls, throat piercings; it's all grotesque and gnarly, pushing actors into a state of expansive live-theater, with long shot set-ups propelling intimacy and a deep-rooted primal vision into your eyeballs without submission. DiCaprio has to basically carry the whole film using barely any dialogue, and he does so masterfully. Gleeson turns in a great supporting performance and Tom Hardy is a fvcking beast here. Ah the magic of cinema."

"This is my 2nd time watching and it's as good as I remember. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the Main Character and Tom Hardy plays the Villain in the movie. Not an action heavy movie but there's some, nice camera work and good scenes so this is worth watching. I don't normally watch movies in the Native American setting but it's a good watch to refresh my memories for this movie. "
"Leo definitely deserved an Oscar before this movie but I’m glad he eventually got one even though this is nowhere near his best role. "
