"A phenomenal movie. Ranks alongside movies like THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY and SHANE as among the greatest Westerns ever made (might be among my top 2 favorite Westerns after THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY). Like the Dollars trilogy, I’m really impressed by the atmosphere building and especially the use of lingering shots and using subtle gestures for character building. Stellar cinematography, score, production design, and performances by Charles Bronson, Jason Robards, and especially Henry Fonda (who manages to make his character look so menacing). Highly recommended."
