"I can't stop thinking about this movie. the story was so complex and fascinating. the pacing of this movie worked very well. despite this being a slow-burn, there was never a dull moment. the child actors did a great job at portraying Abby and Owen. both of their characters shared a deep loneliness. Owen's issues at school and not having anyone to talk to about it, along with Abby's longing to be with people but knowing she can't. that she will either watch them grow old while she remains or eventually kill them. this was a different type of love story, and the way love and affection were approached was very interesting. I also enjoyed how it portrayed what it takes to have a relationship with a creature like Abby. I loved the atmosphere and effects of this movie. its often raw and emotionless feel only adds to the coldness Abby feels from living off the blood of others.

"The direction and planning that went into this was incredible. It perfectly captures the feel of the year depicted and the acting supported it well. It's a mood or sort of #nostalgia that's accomplished within a coming of age vampire film. #underrated #understated #underappreciated #slowburn"
