"I had way more hopes for this movie. While the location and setting was out of this world, lighting, costumes, makeup were well done, the story was so weak and rushed. You drive your own conclusion at the end but there’s just nothing special at all about this movie. The screaming was a bit too much. "

"I see this movie not getting the love it deserves. There was some plot Twists and nice details that really made this movie stand out in this genre that right now has an over abduance of films. Sydney's acting top tier I cannot get enough of her and this just shows her versatility. The jump scares I jumped which rarely every happens and this was the good kind of disturbed if you are a horror gal like me."
"I wanted to love this! The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is for cinematography + the poor attempt to be VERY A24-like. It just didn’t hit the mark but Sydney slayed her screams! I don’t necessarily think this is horror but overall a decent watch. The ending is worth it if you want to give it a go! "
"“Suffering is love.”
American nun Cecilia ventures into the Italian countryside on a mission of faith and diligently constructed perseverance after witnessing her own miracle years before that made her believe in the first place. She is initially greeted convivially but then that all takes a sinister turn. Compared to The Nun 2, I didn’t love this one as much, but still could appreciate the underlying themes of what it means to sacrifice and feel conflicted in belonging to a new place. Especially when that new place morphs into the ultimate nightmare best left to the depths of hell.
Cecilia is strong, stalwart, and unbending under pressure until that pressure continually builds and breaks her apart. She, in her own process and time, stops at nothing to reclaim her power and narrative as a woman, while still feeling restrained and held back from the goodness and promise of life. She sticks it to the man in order to resist power hierarchies and being overrun by those who don’t have her best interests at heart. Watch this for a bloody good time! "
"I’m giving this movie two stars because it had a good premise, but this movie goes from good to gross and down right disturbing. Plus the end is depressing, and I’ll leave it at that. I’d definitely skip. I went into it thinking I was in for something like “the conjuring” or “the nun”, but what I got was immense nausea at some of the scenes. If you’ve ever had a baby I’d especially steer clear. "
"This movie is a must-see for those that want to see a religious horror! Neon company produced a great horror. Sydney Sweeney did an incredible job. It was great to see her acting range throughout this movie. The storyline was very much Rosemary's Baby (except better) and I was living for it. The gore in this movie was perfect, and I loved that the jump scares caught be off guard. It was a great disturbing film. Would I say scary? Depends on the person, but for me, no. Is it disturbing? Very much so. "
