"I had to watch this movie in two parts, because I feel the pacing is too slow. The movie is too long, and it doesn't have to be. Perhaps the director felt that is was dramatic to stretch out the plot for the final showdown. After watching the second half, I still feel the same way. The point being made is that Batman is an unfinished product, and Catwoman is a diamond 💎 in the rough, living in a dark and ugly city. Batman and Catwoman do not have any sexual chemistry, and their so-called romance feels forced. This is not a Bruce Wayne origin story, but a Wayne family origin story, and a Gotham City origin story. Robert Pattinson does an okay job as the tortured hero, but I wanted more from him as Bruce Wayne. Zoe Kravitz is okay as a independent woman, but her character makes choices that make no sense. Put simply, John Turturro and Jeffrey Wright were the best part of the slow plot. They melted into their characters. The other characters and villains are only there briefly to setup the plot, but don't have much else to do. Maybe in the sequel, we will see Batman grow up and become a polished superhero, and talk a little more."
"So many BATMAN movies, but this one’s a favorite. This was a 2nd rewatch & I think it’s a really good one — Paul Dano as the Riddler was without a doubt a super-creepy & sadistic serial-killing villain, right along with Heath Ledger’s Joker… but looking at Paul Dano’s Riddler scared me even more than the Joker did because of Riddler’s mask (& the breathing through the mask like Darth Vader) 😱👀 … And here’s a bit of TRIVIA for you; I watched this movie with my husband tonight (his name is Patrick Parker) and look what we noticed (look at the NAME in ALL CAPS) when the Riddler showed his DRIVER’S LICENSE: 🪪 "
"I'm not a fan of most DC characters but Batman is certainly iconic. I hated that they chose Robert Pattinson to play him. I can't get past picturing him as a glittery vampire from Twilight. That pretty much ruined this movie for me. Also, the fact that it tries to recapture the mood and vibe of Se7en, unsuccessfully in my opinion. I may revisit it in the future to give it a second chance, but I'm not in any rush. 3.5/10"
"Robert Pattinson, I’m sorry I ever doubted you. Now, I love the Dark Knight trilogy but this film feels much more like what a Batman movie is intended to be in my opinion. It’s gritty, dark and raw. And finally the Riddler is a villain to take seriously and fear! Bravo to Paul Dano!!! Zoe Kravitz is divine as Selina Kyle, adding a sensuality and mystery to Catwoman that other variations lack. Her chemistry with Pattinson is delectable and you could almost feel the sexual tension between the two of them. Colin Farrell’s transformation into Penguin is astonishing and I really dug Andy Serkis’ portrayal of a darker tough Alfred. Of course, as the man of the hour Pattinson’s performance cannot be understated. He killed it as the vigilante billionaire, making him identifiably Batman while also adding his own spin to the character. In short, Matt Reeves is a genius and I’m obsessed. Getting more of these films is not a want, it’s a need. Warner Bros. get to it!!!"

"The only criticism I had of this film falls on the director I think. It should have been tightened up a bit, it’s unnecessarily long and some of the scenes are so dark I can barely see what’s going on."

"This was a really good movie! I doubted Robert Pattinson greatly and knowing he was "the new batman" peaked my curiosity. I figure either he'd blow it and it'd be a meme or he'd blow it out of the water and I think he did great for what this film was. It was dark, moody and gritty and thats what I loved about it. It wasn't colorful and so very obviously PG13 in its nature. I unfortunately didn't see too much chemistry between the batman and catwoman and now that I think of it, no one called her catwoman not even once. But I still drooled over her beauty and heard every line she uttered with all of my attention. Slightly disappointed Robert P didn't get slightly more "buff" as batman did a lot of physically taxing duties and stunts. I think I also saw glimpses of Zoe kravitz being sort of dead in the eyes where the words she was speaking had no meaning behind them. Someone in the comments said the penguin was COLIN FARELL?!?!?! I did NOT know or notice holy cow. Also holy cow does paul dano always get cast typed as a creepy weirdo, poor guy lol. But he did pretty well as the riddler. Couldve been better. Idk why but I really liked it overall but can see why others were let down. Im just glad it wasn't a "childish" superhero movie. "
